Our parishes support parents as the primary educators of their children. We appreciate the task assigned to us by you of assisting in the religious education of your children.
Families are encouraged to attend the Sunday Liturgy together. Participation in Sunday Mass is where faith formation takes place. Religious education classes should not replace attendance at Sunday Mass. Please click here for a list of Mass times.
We have four program options listed below for faith formation. Three of the four options are biweekly meetings at a designated parish. The fourth option is a week-long intensive program that takes place over the summer. When registering your children, please make one selection per child. Your selection will become your child's year-long program. Changing days and times is not allowed. Our biweekly program registration fee is $60 per student.*
Option #1 – Sunday Mornings (9:30–10:45 AM)
Option #2 – Sunday Evenings (5:00–6:15 PM)
Option #3 – Monday Afternoons (4:00–5:15 PM)
Option #4 – Weeklong Summer Program (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Summer program registration fee of $250 per student (includes daily lunch)
*All children are entitled to be given an education in the Holy Catholic faith. If the cost of faith formation classes is a hardship, please contact Mrs. Laferriere before registering.
Grades K–5 use the Bible as their textbook along with St. Mary's press curriculum. Together we dive into Sacred Scripture and the riches of the Catholic faith.
Grades 6–8 will use their Bibles along with several teaching tools to better understand the Bible and the Catholic faith. We use the Ascension program Encounter.
Grades 9–10 prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation using the Life Teen program Purpose. The Confirmation program includes service, class hours, retreats, discussions, and more.
After the Confirmation in the fall of 10th grade, students participate in Coffee with Christ, an interactive program with discussion, fellowship, food, and faith. Confirmation is not a graduation from faith formation, but rather a beginning for young people to continue to grow in their faith. This post-Confirmation program is meant to help young people to continue their faith development and grow in love of Christ and the Church.
Sacramental preparation is required for youth in grades 2, 9, and 10.
